Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Mary Mother of God Council 14446 was chartered on January 1, 2008. It is named after our parish, which was established in 1996. General Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

The Council’s Mission Statement is: “Knights of Columbus are Catholic gentlemen committed to the exemplification of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism and the defense of the priesthood. The Order is consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Order is unequivocal in its loyalty to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ on earth. It is firmly committed to the protection of human life, from conception to natural death, and to the preservation and defense of the family. It was upon these bedrock principles that the Order was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney over a century ago and our Order remains true to them today.”

Our Council and its members help various groups connected with the parish by providing manpower and funds, where possible, in charitable works and being active participants in parish and community activities such as the Food Drive, School Breakfast Program, Charity Car Draw, Soap for Hope, etc…

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men who are at least 18 years old. For membership enquiries, we invite you to contact Milt Cowan at 905.842.4319 or by email to
